mql4 tutorial

The mql4 tutorial will take even the most novice of programmers through the basic steps to create a simple expert advisor and assumes absolutely no prior programing knowledge or experience whatsoever. The tutorial serves as a great first step to anybody that is interested in learning more about the metatrader 4 programming language and specifically how to create expert advisors.

You’ll quickly get up to speed and will have created your own simple EA in no time at all. The course focuses purely on creating an expert advisor and does not touch on how to program indicators at all. Having said that it’s really not too much more work to take what you’ve learned in the metatrader mql4 tutorial and implement the principles to enable you to code an indicator.

MQL4 Tutorial Benefits

When trying to learn mql4 as with any other programming language you must always make an effort to read the help file provided, study other pieces of code and try to make sense of what it’s doing. It may seem tough initially but trust me if you apply yourself and remain focused you’ll be able to do it. Take a look at my article about and see if you have the right mindset.

When you’re ready to take your studying a little further I’ve also written a free too that will help you.

Learning MQL4 really isn’t too hard at all and is a great language to start off with as it’s loosely based on Visual Basic which is one of the simplest languages there is. Many people claim that mql4 is based on c++ which is a very powerful language but it’s syntax is not very intuitive. The same can not be said of visual basic and therefore mql4 as both use very familiar and simple English language constructs in their syntax. The new coding language for metatrader, mql5, is actual much more similar to c++ and is therefore nowhere near as ‘newbie friendly’ as mql4 is.

If you’re serious about trying to learn to code your own expert advisors or indicators for metatrader4 then you will definitely benefit by reading my mql4 tutorial.
